Prepare for Livestock and Fish

SHELTER · READINESS · LIVING SYSTEMS

Prepare the infrastructure before you add a living system.

Animals and fish bring daily responsibilities. Before adding them, make sure water, shelter, feed storage, waste handling, predator protection and care routines are already working on ordinary days and through difficult weather.

Check the whole system

Ask where clean water comes from, where feed stays dry, how cleaning happens, where manure or waste goes, who provides care when you are away and what happens in heat, wind or heavy rain. Start with the smallest system you can observe closely.

Carry the work forward

The structures pathway has prepared the physical support. The next pathway helps you assess the specific needs of chickens, fish and other animal systems before committing.
